Liposuction
Liposuction procedures slim and reshape the body through the surgical removal of excess fat deposits under the skin.
Liposuction surgery can help patients that are having trouble reducing fat in certain areas despite diet and exercise weight loss regimens.
Liposuction can reduce the aspect of the abdomen, buttocks, thighs and hips, and slim the waist. It is also effective in reducing some of the excess found in the arms, neck and knees.
Liposuction is most commonly performed as an outpatient procedure with discharge home. An overnight recovery may be required if large volumes of fat are removed or when combined with other procedures.
Liposuction is commonly performed with local anesthesia infused to the treatment area and with mild sedation. When combined with other procedures, general anesthesia may be recommended.
Recovery may require a day or two away from work and 1-2 weeks for bruising to resolve. Light activity may be resumed the day after your surgery.
Compression garments are recommended following liposuction to help reduce fluid retention and shape your new curves. The final results begin to be observed at around 3 months.
Results may be long-term, but weight loss/gain or pregnancy may alter your appearance.
