FAQ

Do I need a consultation?
A consult visit with Dr. Sarcia is your initial step toward achieving your desired outcome. It is during this stage that he will discuss your goals with you and make recommendations based on your input and his expertise.
What happens during a consultation?
The consult visit will begin with an introduction to our practice by a member of our staff.
They will take information regarding your medical history and obtain some of your initial points of discussion for today's visit. You will then meet with Dr. Sarcia to go over your goals for the visit and answer any initial questions you may have. At this time, an examination may be performed by Dr. Sarcia and a member of our staff who will be there as your advocate throughout the process. Photographs may be needed during the visit to help plan your procedure and will be a part of your medical record. The session will conclude with a relaxed discussion of the treatment recommendations and an opportunity to have all of your questions addressed.
Do I need to schedule surgery at the time of my consultation?
Your consult is about YOU! It is designed to be a relaxed and informative session and at no point are you expected to schedule your procedure. You may elect to schedule if you are ready or one of our patient coordinators may reach out to you at a later time if you so wish. It is Dr. Sarcia's policy to repeat the consult process if the recommended procedure is not performed within 6 months of the initial visit. This is done to ensure that the patient's goals as well as other variables have not changed in the interim.
What if I have questions after my consultation?
The important message to understand is that the consultation process never truly ends! Dr. Sarcia believes in open and ongoing dialogue with his patients as he feels it is an important aspect of achieving your goals. If you continue to have questions after your visit, we encourage you to contact our office at any time and we will answer your questions at that time or even schedule a second consultation for you.
Must I undergo photographs?
Photographs are an important part of your patient record and also serve as a reference to Dr. Sarcia throughout the course of your care. You will sign a specific consent for photographs that allows you to elect whether those photographs remain a fully private part of your patient record, or whether you will allow Dr. Sarcia to use these for educational and research purposes. If you are coming for a facial consultation, please keep makeup to a minimum so Dr. Sarcia can better evaluate and photograph your natural appearance, both before and after surgery.
Can a friend accompany me to my consultation?
You may bring a friend or family member to support you during your consultation. Sometimes they can help remember certain aspects of your consult for you after you have gone and can be a good reference for you. We urge our patients to understand that the decision to move forward with surgery is a personal and individual one.
