Breast Reduction

Breast reduction, also known as reduction mammoplasty, is a procedure that surgically reduces the size and reshapes overly large breasts.

Breast reduction is designed to balance your body proportions or to help with health problems caused by breasts that are too large, putting stress on the neck, shoulders and back.

Incisions are generally placed inconspicuously around the nipple and areola and under the breast. In most cases, a vertical incision from the nipple to the breast crease may be required.

A breast reduction is performed under general anesthesia and is typically done in an outpatient setting.

Recovery time depends on the extent of your breast reduction. You can return to light activities within a day or two, and full activities within 3-4 weeks.

This surgical procedure has a very high satisfaction rate amongst women and can dramatically improve quality of life.

The affects of the procedure can be long-term, but weight loss/gain, future pregnancy, or natural aging may alter your results over time.

Breast Reduction surgery may be covered by your insurance; please discuss your potential benefits and precertification for surgery with our staff.
